Sutherland offers the tourist many activities to make your stay an unforgettable experience, many of the activities can be carried out within the Estate. The area which covers Sallachy Estate is traditional to this area of the Highlands. composing of mostly wild moorland and rocky outcrops. The land of the estate rises from the shores of Loch Shin, an excellent fishing loch which stretches for 18 miles into the rugged heart of Sutherland The estate is also home to a variety of wildlife, including otters, pine martins, wild cats, varieties of deer, assorted waterfowl, red and black throated divers and Ospreys. By prior arrangement there are a number of secluded mountain lochs with wild brown trout for fishing as well as fishing on Loch Shin. By prior arrangement there is Red deer and Sika for stalking during the season. Sutherland offers the tourist many activities to make your stay an unforgettable experience. The estate offers stalking in remarkable scenery. During the season there is Red Deer and Sika available.

salmon leap and spectacular falls. There is a visitor centre with restaurant.
Dunrobin Castle -
The 10,000 hectares of Sallachy Estate provide a wonderful area for walking and bird watching. Nearby there are forest trails. Maps and brochures are available at the lodge and cottage describing walks on the estate and surrounding areas.
On Sallachy Estate wild brown trout can be caught on a number of secluded mountain lochs (1 of which has a boat) which can be accessed by walking or by argocat . In addition there is a boat available to fish on Loch Shin. By arrangement all equipment can be supplied and tuition provided.

The precise origins of Highland Games is unknown but in all probability they derived from the trials of strength, speed, agility and skill which were commonplace at the various religious fairs, military musters and cattle fairs of medieval and early modern Scotland. There a number of stunning and world class beaches within 1½ hours travelling time from Sallachy Estate, From Dornoch beach on the Dornoch Firth (45mins) to Balnakeil bay on the North coast at the Atlantic (1½ hrs).
