An important rural centre, Lairg is also at the heart of a significant archaeological landscape. The story of the area's prehistoric peoples and their role in shaping the Highland landscape is recounted in the Ferrycroft Countryside Centre . Nearby the Ord Archaeological Trail enables you to see some of the best prehistoric sites close up.

Sallachy Lodge, which is the main house on the estate and can sleep 16 + 3 (small children). Sallachy Lodge was built in the 1930's and is an excellent house for exploring with two separate staircases to the upper floor and a
third staircase to the attic. There is a large formal sitting room which can accomodate your whole party or there is an intimate library and sun room for those who want to have some peace and quiet. The dining room can seat 16 and there is a small fully functional kitchen and larder. The bedrooms are all large in size and all have good views either out to the Loch, into the deer park or to the front of the lodge. All the bathrooms have recently been refurbished with deep claw foot baths.

Fruachan Cottage is a 3 bedroom new build property, which retains the character of the estate and has stunning views up the length of Loch Shin. The property sleeps 6 comfortably and has a large sitting room with a double aspect view towards the Loch and to the front of the house. There is a log burning stove. There is a modern kitchen/dining room with a large utility and drying room. The stairway with picture window leads to three bedrooms with one en-suite. The accomodation is heated by an environmentaly friendly wood burning boiler. Its a truly beautiful spot where deer can be seen regularly grazing around the cottage.
